The controversial issue of reservation has landed Aarakshan in trouble, again. On Tuesday, the chairperson of the Commission for National Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes (SC/ST), P.L.Punia, asked the director, Prakash Jha to screen the film for him and the members of the SC/ST commission.
Jha, outrightly refused and said, "How can he decide that my film is provocative and will incite class differences without seeing a single minute of the film? And why should I show my film to anyone? Today, the SC/ST feels that my film is against the backward classes, tomorrow a few more organisations may want to see my film to decide whether it is beneficial or dangerous for a certain group of people.
Let the Censor Board decide whether my film is damaging in any sense. I won't let it be censored by self appointed censors."
