Deepika's seeing someone else: Ranbir Kapoor

Is it tough for ex-es to work together? Ranbir doesn't think so. The former couple are signed on to do Ayan's Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

He told Filmfare in an interview, "Deepika and I came in for a lot of negativity because of the way our relationship ended. But our duty as individual actors is to get rid of the baggage and make the greatest love story of this generation. I think Deepika suits this character in Ayan's film better than anyone else. I hope people forget our history and love only our characters on screen. There won't be any discomfort."

He added, "She's seeing someone else. There's no sense of bitterness. We lived that life, I'm grateful for that experience. We were not destined to be. Maybe we will share a great friendship which we didn't when we were seeing each other. As people we were not compatible. There's no question of rekindling passions."

And, is he seeing Nargis? Apparently not. He says, "I'm extremely and deeply fond of her. She's a wild child, spiritual, bohemian and well-travelled. She's lovely. Sometimes she's a child, sometimes she's all grown up. I'm not in love with her or in a relationship with her."

Actress Deepika Padukone has been brave on the 'Koffee with Karan' talk show. She has been honest, displayed a sense of humour and even portrayed that she has moved on. So when asked, what she would gift Ranbir Kapoor, the girl wittily said, "A pack of condoms!"

It can be remembered, that in a recent interview Deepika had said that her boyfriend cheated on her and she caught him red-handed. Cleverly, no names were mentioned, but the speculated that it was Ranbir that she was talking about.

Of course, post the show with Karan Johar, Deepika has been apologetic about everything she said, and clarified that 'it was all in good humour'. It is heard that though Deepika and Ranbir are single now, they continue to be cordial with each other and wish each other whenever they meet.

However, Ranbir Kapoor is being hounded by the media who wants a reaction on everything Deepika has had to say about him. So at a recent awards function, the actor was stopped on the red carpet, and asked what he thought about Deepika gifting him a pack of condoms. "It's a good gift. Actors need to endorse safe sex,"he wittily replied.

It is generally unheard of for B-town exes to star in a film together. However, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor seem to have put their romantic relationship well and truly behind them. In fact, Deepika says she's excited about working with Ranbir again in Ayan Mukherjee's " Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani" ("YJHD"). "Ranbir and I have been waiting for a good script to come our way for some time. And when Ayan came up with the script for "YJHD", we were both very excited. It's an amazing script and we will start shooting for it in January," she says.

Does Deepika think Ranbir has matured as an actor since they last worked together in the 2008 film, "Bachna Ae Haseeno"? "I have watched "Rockstar" twice. I even went up to Ranbir and asked him what he was going to do after this, because with this film, he has entered an interesting phase of his career. Ranbir has always been a good actor - he just needed the right director to give him that role," says Deepika.

Deepika is getting back into action mode with Abbas-Mustan's thriller, "Race 2", which has reportedly been delayed because of issues with her dates. "The shoot of the film was delayed as the makers of the film shifted the dates. Each time, I adjusted and allotted my dates for the film accordingly and never backed out of them. So speculation about the film being delayed because of me or my opting out of it are untrue," says Deepika, adding that she will begin shooting for "Race 2" by the second week of December. What about the reports that she was asked to lose weight for the film? "They're completely untrue. This is something I had been hoping to do for myself. I want to lose one or two kilos to get that sculpted look. I think it will make a huge difference onscreen," she says.

Deepika has quite a few films lined up that should keep her busy well into 2012. For starters, there is the Homi Adajania film, the tentatively titled "Cocktail", which also stars Saif Ali Khan. "There are two films in hand and three more in the pipeline. The title for "Cocktail" has not been decided yet. We call it "Production 3" at the moment," she signs off.

Deepika Padukone glad about 'love story' with Ranbir

Actress Deepika Padukone is more than willing and happy to field questions about ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor.

At an event, recently, when Deepika Padukone was asked about sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in Ayaan Mukherjee's film 'Yeh Jawani Jai Deewani', she was more than happy to answer the question.

Deepika said, "It'll be interesting to work with Ranbir Kapoor because he's a fantastic actor. Also, I don't think our pairing has been exploited. This is a love story, it's a genre I really love doing, and who better than Ayaan to get us back together?"

Well, it looks like Deepika Padukone is very excited about this pyaar-bhari daastaan with Ranbir Kapoor.

It had to happen. Once Deepika Padukone signed on Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, everything else had to take a backseat. The first casualty seems to be Abbas Mustan's Race 2, where she is teamed opposite Saif Ali Khan.

Our source informs, "Race 2 is meant to be shot between January 2012 and June 2012. Saif, John Abraham (the baddie), Anil Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha have allotted dates accordingly. However, Deepika is not able to accommodate this film now as the dates of Race 2 and YJHD are clashing."

Deepika was asked to make a choice and she chose Ranbir (naturally) over Saif. Reports suggest that producer Ramesh Taurani is livid with Deepika. Her last-minute ditch may leave the project in limbo.

Since it is a multi-starrer with big names involved, putting the project together with all their dates itself has taken a while. Now, Deepika's exit may just jeopardise it. Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma don't have dates for this project either.

Deepika's spokesperson said, "It's still not final whether Deepika will quit Race 2. Her dates are being worked out."
